Safety & Responsibility

Your safety first. Our ocean respected.

Prepare honestly, choose the right support, follow local judgement and leave wildlife, reefs and communities with space to thrive.

Before you go

Six checks make the experience clearer and safer.

These checks do not replace activity-specific instruction or the decision of a qualified local operator.

01

Be honest about confidence

Share swimming comfort, experience, mobility and support needs.

02

Check qualifications

Ask about licences, instructor credentials, first aid and relevant registrations.

03

Inspect equipment

Equipment and vessels should suit the activity, group and local conditions.

04

Listen to local judgement

The safest plan can change with wind, waves, rain, visibility or access.

05

Protect wildlife and habitat

Keep distance, avoid pressure and never support touching, feeding or chasing wildlife.

06

Know the emergency route

Carry relevant contact, medical and insurance information before departure.

Conditions change

A forecast is context—not permission.

Aqua Sri Lanka can show seasonal, current or forecast information when available. Final participation remains subject to real conditions, access, equipment and local operator judgement.

Seasonal guidance

Short-range sea and weather conditions are not connected yet. Seasonal guidance is shown and must be confirmed locally.

Responsible marine wildlife encounter in Sri Lankan waters

Wildlife responsibility

Observe without controlling the encounter.

Responsible operators avoid guarantees, aggressive approaches, crowding and behaviour that changes the animal’s natural path.

Healthy tropical reef habitat in Sri Lankan waters

Reef and habitat care

Leave only movement—not damage.

Avoid standing on coral, collecting natural material, abandoning waste or using anchoring practices that damage sensitive habitat.

What Aqua Sri Lanka verifies

Status language must be specific.

Public-source listed, operator-confirmed, documentation-reviewed and routing-eligible are separate states. One does not imply the others.

Public-source listed

A public source supports the listing record.

Operator-confirmed

The operator has directly confirmed relevant information.

Documentation reviewed

Specified documents have been reviewed for the stated scope.

Routing eligible

The operator can receive relevant structured enquiries.

Emergency information

Use verified local emergency information.

Final emergency numbers, escalation contacts and service limitations must be legally and operationally reviewed before launch. This framework intentionally does not invent or publish unverified contacts.
